Cross roads

The east-west road
Is my normal route
Whence I bear my load
Firm and resolute

But tonight my approach
Is from the north
Perspective is broached
On I go south

And all the world changes

Those sleeping in this little town
Will not notice this sea change
Nor see me on the traversing path
When they wake they will not know
Who did come and go
At their little cross roads
