Normal

I just cracked open that egg of wonder
And that pain is still a reminder
As if their stares were ignorable
What’s done is done, what’s gone is gone
What’s left is right.  Normal is a quest
A dream.  A fear I now remind them
I was able to fake it, once
And blend into the masses
That mask was torn away.
And yet the tide keeps churning

  1. No matter how hard it is, it is always such a good thing once the mask is torn away. I really like this poem. Being authentic and true to oneself sometimes makes for a bumpy ride, but at least we feel good inside our skin. Smiles. Nice to read you at Midweek Motif.
