Aging

And slowly
Little by little
I begin to crumble
Aches loom larger
Pains grow stronger
Memory is failing
At first I claim on purpose
But really no longer so
And so I turn down that path
Worn into stone by a million
Leathery soles
May grace walk with me
Until we reach the end

  1. 😉 When my father turned 100, he looked at me in all seriousness and said, “I guess I’m getting old.” Apparently before that, it hadn’t occurred to him, which is probably the secret of achieving that many years.
