Like the rumbling in a dragons belly
The locomotive thunders by
Ten thousand pounds
The gravity of it’s presence
Pulls me in
Burning fuel it rushes along the rails
It’s gaping maw moves on
Three of them to pull a hundred cars
As the rolling stock are dragged along
Engineless, voiceless
Save for the murmuring steel
Wheels turning, knuckles creaking
A sound somehow almost soothing
keeps me in it’s spell
Till finally the last one
Is pulled through my experience
And I am left there by the crossing
The rails remember
And sing and ping a song
Of decompressing

Inspiration: the silent train
