Heart-shaped box

We are in a sort of orbit
Close enough to never let go
Far enough to not touch
You’ll do what culture contrives
And you’ll think I’m satisfied
But at every other turn you deny me
So Hearts stay in their boxes
Im forever on your doorstep
Too far to touch
Too close to let go

  1. Love this one, Eric, especially the orbit metaphor! With as bit of tweaking, you’d have a heart shaped poem.
