My big bang

It feels like there is a wild animal
A gruesome beast locked within
My heart is not in a cage,
It is the cage, for this thing
That yearns to be released
The first time it was reeled out
It was severed and seemed
Lost forever.  But really
It’s shards were kept and hidden
In my Withinermost place
The deepest cavern, on a pedestal
Covered in black velvet and iron
Lead, no. tungsten.  And compressed
And every bit that came back
Was put there, shoved in
Clamped down by fear
Thus the frankenbeast rebuilt
It is so huge now
And it’s prison so compressed
(there is no reason to the fear)
Can that release be anything but explosive?
A supernova of love, as the singularity
Unleashed, becomes the big bang
Of the universal me

  1. WOW! That would be a big bang indeed. This is splendid:
“My heart is not in a cage,
It is the cage, for this thing
    That yearns to be released”

And I love the word “Withinermost” and its description. Bravo!
