diffuse me

i am at the center of an hourglass, with the inverted cone of lineage in my past, half obscured by time and death.  Great great great grandparents immigrated from ireland.  so, st. patty’s day.  oh i feel so festive now!  knowing!  filling a hole.  so i wrote this:

16. ancient his-story
8.  loose watery geneology
4.  traits condense,
2.  coallesce, precipitate into
1.  Me
2. children grow already mingled
4. relate, and mate
8. grandchildren too
16. in them i expand, diffuse

  1. What a sweet conceit, your hourglass, with its narrowing to the centre and widening out as family members multiply in each direction.
