Do not envy Death

Some think you only show up once,
At the thing we call the end
But I’ve seen you more, I’m no dunce
Though not enough to call you friend

You are often there, reminding with your presence
You took my definition, all I thought i was
But left me here behind the fence

You coax and coach so we are ready when you come
Instead we ignore your lessons and would rather be caught dumb

Your gifts denied, your visage feared. You’re only trying to help.
