We once were getting
An old house spruced up for guests
It had been a few years since
Any had passed her stately gates
One picked up sticks in the yard
Another cleaned the bath
Each to their own abilities or interest
And one came to me, to complain, enraged
“Why are they doing this, and those doing that
When it’s clear that the need is here!
we’re not even on the same page!”
This at first seemed truth, but on a closer look,
We were on different pages, but
All in the same book. For all of us were needed
All the tasks to be done
The separate parts came together
And so the goal was won.

dversprompts us with community
You have just totally nailed this prompt. I loved the unfolding here….the opening out and then coming together. Stunning metaphor written with guile. Thank You for this excellent contribution to the prompt.

Good point about not being on the same page but being in the same book.
