Chapter 49: Just before the curtain opens

Stormlashed ship battered, now
Becalmed on the merciless sea

Elucidation, obfuscation

She has fed me spoonfuls
Of milk and honeydew
Now she sits, silently,
Watching, withholding.

For me, for you.

Sails limp, empty, breathless
Lying exhausted, yet unsleeping.

First there was silence,
Then there was no silence,
And now

  1. I lost my breath somewhere around ‘She has fed me spoonfuls of milk and honeydew. Now she sits, silently, watching, withholding. For me, for you.’ Sigh… beautifully penned.❤️

  2. Ooh, that’s a breathless pause all right! Preceding a realisation, a fulfilment (we trust). Nice allusions, woven into something new.
