Cuniform

Beside my bed
Where I lay my head
Is where I lay my words down
Like Babylonians
Though my tablet isn’t clay
These words may as well be.

  1. Words of clay plays with creation and having “clay feet”–not at all a danger for this poem.
(Today’s tablet may spread the words father, but it will never keep them as long as tablets of yore.)
