Looking Out 4 # 1

Some may say I’m selfish
In looking to improve
And be a better man
But I refute this claim

Those nay-Sayers want me
To be a certain way
Attend to their needs first
So I deny their blame

What they accuse me of
Reveals the guilt they hide
That I don’t serve their wants
That is their selfish shame

And mine? Well, in working
On myself, my inner
Being, then I can
From that strong place help the lame
