Death’s Roommate

‘eventually’ perplexes me
buds are beauty’s womb
‘preserved’ is not existence
despite pickle’s insistence
‘continue’ is meaningless
the magic is only now
that dreadful immediacy
the comfort of bones
nothing can disappear
that didnt’ already die
with my fear
the humor in her voice
moves in

  1. I love the opening – reminds me of when I say “In a minute” – when my youngest was little he thought that meant “a long time”. Eventually often means the same thing 🙂 I was teasing you earlier a little bit – I hope you wrote “13” because you wanted to. And again – the other poem is remarkable – adding words to it would have been a bad thing 🙂
