Warning: vice ahead

I can’t do it.
Nope. Not to you.
That’s the unread chapter
With it’s cruel laughter.
You don’t want to know
What makes that snake grow.
. (eat it, she said)
I’ll not smash the porcelain mask
That in the garden bask
(You do not need to know)
That hides lusty perversions.
I’ll bundle that shame in a fig leaf
And leave

I’ll never know how close I came
To finding out you felt the same

  1. Linking the idea of physical and emotional nakedness was a neat way to play with the idea of vice and virtue. I would think that forthrightness would be a virtue, but it’s fear of rejection that turns what ought to be natural into a vice.

  2. This is absolutely brilliant!💞 I like; “I’ll not smash the porcelain mask that in the garden bask (You do not need to know) that hides lusty perversions.”💞
