At night

Ten degrees

Stars crisp and clear

Grasping for comfort,

Like you do,

Flannel sheets

Down duvet

Quilted blanket

And the Book.

Like I am

In these things

I forget that they

Have no warmth

In their embrace

I forget myself

  1. Wow, I love the sense of isolation and yet a distinct warm in this piece—blanketed, trying to forget the cold, that desire and want of warmth. The ending makes me spin, it’s stunning and introspective. Beautiful piece!
